What does DMX ArtNet Controller do?

 

ArtNet, as a lighting communication protocol, is to send and receive DMX512 data through Ethernet network using UDP packets.

DMX is a unidirectional protocol, DMX ArtNet controller send DMX512 signal to the lighting fixtures only in one way from the very first lighting to the last one. However, RDM-enabled ArtNet DMX512 LED controller allows bi-directional signal communication between the controller and the lights.


How many DMX universes does ArtNet DMX controller carry?

 

There are a large number of Artnet DMX controller for sale in the market.

Most of them are built into 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 or even 32 DMX universe/port.

 

1 port to control up to 512 DMX channels

2 port to control up to 1024 DMX channels
